First Responders: Introduction to Autism and Practical Strategies for Crisis Situations
This workshop will provide an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder and what to expect when supporting an individual with ASD in an emergency situation. A range of de-escalation strategies, communication, and behavioural support strategies will be reviewed.

About the Speaker
Stephanie Jull, PhD, is the VP of Programs & Training at the Canucks Autism Network (CAN) where she oversees a team of 350 part-time staff who deliver programs to individuals living with autism throughout BC. In addition, Stephanie oversees CAN’s training team, working with a team of advisory committees to develop workshops for sport and recreation providers, first responders and school staff, to improve understanding of autism in a range of community settings.
