About the Workshop
Autism: Supports for Home and Community Settings
This session will provide an overview of Autism and introduce participants to a range of strategies to support the inclusion of individuals with Autism in community environments.
Topics will include an introduction to Autism, communication tips, teaching tools and a range of behaviour support strategies for improving engagement.
Support workers, family members, community recreation staff/coaches and anyone interested in learning more about Autism may benefit from attending this workshop.
About the Speaker
Stephanie Jull, PhD, is the VP of Programs & Training at the Canucks Autism Network (CAN) where she oversees a team of 350 part-time staff who deliver programs to individuals living with Autism throughout BC.
In addition, Stephanie oversees CAN’s training team, working with a team of Advisory Committees to develop workshops for Sport and Recreation providers, First Responders and School Staff, to improve understanding of autism in a range of community settings.
